Resources for new arrivals and expectant families

Premmie Packs

63% of twins and 100% of triplets & higher order multiples are born premature. CAMBA has a selection of premature baby clothes in sizes 000000, 00000 and 0000 that can help our families in the first few months postpartum. Premmie Packs have been a valuable service to our families as such small sizes are often harder to come by and only needed for a short time. Premmie Packs are available for all members to loan. For mor details, please contact Patricia at premmiepacks@camba.amba.org.au.

Antenatal sessions

While most hospitals offer antenatal sessions for expectant parents, not many go into the details of what to expect when you’re expecting multiples. Our sessions are less about the birth itself, and more about the logistics of life with more than one baby. Run by mums and dads, they are the perfect opportunity to ask all those questions you might have. Covering everything from prams to sleeping and feeding, the sessions are full of tips and tricks for getting through the early months with your babies.

Our sessions are run quarterly, and our Antenatal Coordinator will be in touch with expectant parents with the next session date. For more details, please contact antenatal@camba.amba.org.au.

New Parents' Morning Tea

A milestone moment for all our new families! Our newest parents with young multiples are invited to our New Parents' Morning Tea. It is a special event where our New Parents come together to meet and share experiences with each other over catered morning tea and hot (❤️!) coffee. Our wonderful team of volunteers (all parents of multiples themselves) care for the babies in the next room, allowing a chance for New Parents to connect with other CAMBA families with similar-aged multiples.

Weekly Playgroup in Camberwell

Getting out of the house with young babies is tough, and even tougher when you have more than one. But getting together with other parents who are going through a similar experience can provide much needed support and something to look forward to.

The Playgroup is held weekly on Wednesdays 10.30am - 12.30pm during school terms at a Community Centre in Camberwell for all members, catering towards newborns to 3year olds.

Playgroup is particularly valuable for babies as our New Parents can meet and connect with other families with similar aged multiples in a relaxed, child-safe environment. There is no pressure to be "on-time" - come when you can, and leave at any time! Grandparents, nannies and other carers are most welcome to attend.

It’s the perfect time to get out of the house and spend time with some people who understand what you are going through. People who understand if you are late, or need to leave early. People who are happy to help you get in and out of the car if you need it. People who can discuss the highs and lows of life with multiple babies. It’s a great place to share tips, or to just be around others for a few hours.

Expectant parents are also welcome to attend. It can be overwhelming to see what is to come, but it’s a great opportunity to connect with those who are a step ahead of where you are and ask some of those questions about what to expect.

For more details about Playgroup, contact underones@camba.amba.org.au.

Feeding Pillow Bank

We have a variety of feeding pillows which can be used for either breast feeding or bottle feeding. They are available to borrow for as long as you need them and we hope it makes life a little easier during feeding time.

Pillows can be picked up from a Community Centre in Camberwell, or contact support@camba.amba.org.au for more info.

Chat Support Groups

CAMBA has range of chat support groups across different age groups including Under 1s and Expectant Families, Over 1s Families, Dad's & Partners, Solo Parents and School-aged Families.

Reach out to these groups if you need any tips, product recommendations or even just to vent! Our community is a wealth of knowledge, empathy and practical advice.
